WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
There are 12 million small businesses owned by baby boomers in the United States. Experts estimate that millions of these businesses will close or change hands over the next decade. For founders, this presents an obvious opportunity for liquidity, but also a tricky transition. Not surprisingly, many founders grapple with this transition: A 2016 survey of small businesses in the United States found that 72% of owners do not have an exit plan, with 54% intending to leave within 10 years. A failure to appropriately plan and execute this transition could cost entrepreneurs dearly.
Factorial was founded to address this opportunity. We partner with legacy-minded entrepreneurs to do three things: develop an appropriate transition strategy, unlock value in their businesses, and maximize value for all stakeholders.
